Zelenskyy: Russia launched 2,100 long‑range drones in one week

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on September 13, 2026 that Russia launched about 2,100 long‑range drones over the course of a single week in an effort to cripple the economy and destroy civilian lives.

Scope and damage cited

Zelenskyy gave further figures, saying Russian forces also deployed some 1,700 guided aerial bombs and 78 missiles. He said the latest mass airstrikes overnight targeted the energy sector, rail infrastructure, commercial enterprises and private homes.

The president named Odesa and multiple regions in western Ukraine among the strike zones, and said attacks also occurred in Volyn, close to the Polish border.

Summing up the threat to the wider continent, Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian forces are holding the line every day. He added: "Russian terrorism is a common threat to many countries, but it is truly possible and necessary to defeat it in Ukraine."

Zelenskyy framed the strikes as part of a campaign aimed at harming Ukraine’s economy and civilian life, and said Ukrainians continue to resist to prevent the aggression from spreading toward Europe.
