More details expected soon, Zelensky says
"We had important meetings — together with our team we are preparing for new contacts with the representatives of the American president. Tomorrow (today) more details will follow. We are doing everything we can to ensure that war does not remain the only option for what comes next," Zelensky wrote in a statement published on the Presidency's website.
He underlined the significance of US backing: "America shares much of Ukraine's positions regarding the situation both on the front and concerning attacks."
Adding emphasis to the tempo of Kyiv's diplomacy, Zelensky said: "We must be active and that is exactly how we are working — actively, with no days off," the Ukrainian president said.
Ukrainian media reported separately that CIA Director John Ratcliffe, during a surprise visit to Moscow earlier this week, proposed a meeting between US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of efforts to end the war.
