2.9-magnitude earthquake felt in Bitola and Resen
The Seismological Observatory in Skopje recorded a 2.9 tremor at 22:18 and said the epicenter was in neighboring Greece, about 120 km southwest of Skopje.
An earthquake was felt yesterday evening in the southwestern parts of the country, including the cities of Bitola and Resen and nearby settlements.
According to the Seismological Observatory at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje, the tremor measured 2.9 on the Richter scale and was recorded at 22:18.

“The epicenter of the earthquake originates from neighboring Greece, about 120 kilometres southwest of Skopje,” the Seismological Observatory at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje said.
Residents in Bitola, Resen and surrounding areas reported feeling the shaking last night; authorities have not released additional technical details beyond the observatory’s announcement.
The observatory’s data place the origin of the small tremor outside the country, highlighting cross-border seismic activity in the region.
