Increased traffic at Tabanovce and Bogorodica; exits delayed by about one hour
AMSM reports about one-hour waits at Tabanovce and Bogorodica and asks drivers to take extra precautions on certain mountain and valley roads.

Published: 12 August, 2026, 09:38 — Traffic on North Macedonia’s state roads is moving without major interruptions on dry surfaces, the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Macedonia (AMSM) reported.
AMSM says vehicle flow has risen outside urban areas as holiday and transit movements increase.
At the Tabanovce border crossing drivers waiting to exit the country face queues of about one hour. Bogorodica is reporting a similar delay of approximately one hour for vehicles leaving North Macedonia. Other border points on the Macedonian side currently do not have significant hold-ups for entry or exit.
Advice to drivers
The association urges motorists to adjust their speed, obey traffic signage and drive attentively. AMSM highlighted that particular care is needed on routes crossing basins, river valleys and gorges because of the risk of landslides.
The warning singles out the sections Katlanovo–Veles, Mavrovo–Debar–Struga, Vinica–Berovo and Kočani–Delčevo as stretches where drivers should be especially cautious.
