Woman from Ukraine with temporary residence hits pedestrian in Bitola; man seriously injured
On July 29, 2026, at an intersection in the center of Bitola a vehicle with Dutch license plates hit a 55-year-old pedestrian who was seriously injured.
A pedestrian from Bitola was seriously injured after being struck by a car driven by a woman from Ukraine with temporary residence in the city, police report.
"On July 29, 2026 at 15:37, the Bitola Police Department received a report that at the intersection of Philip II of Macedon Street, 1 May Boulevard and Jane Sandanski Street in Bitola, a passenger vehicle 'Kia' with Dutch license plates, driven by 39-year-old U.M. from Ukraine, with temporary residence in Bitola, struck 55-year-old D.V. from Bitola. In the accident the pedestrian sustained serious bodily injuries, confirmed at the hospital in Bitola. An inspection was carried out by a team from the Bitola Police Department," the police said.
Condition of the injured
According to hospital sources, the injured man was admitted with serious bodily injuries and is receiving appropriate medical care. Police and medical personnel are taking the necessary measures for stabilization and treatment.
The vehicle involved in the collision was a Kia with Dutch license plates, driven by 39-year-old U.M., a woman from Ukraine with temporary residence in Bitola. The injured person is 55-year-old D.V. from Bitola.
The Bitola Police Department conducted an on-site inspection and secured the evidence; further notifications from the police will follow after the investigative activities are completed.
