North Macedonia U18 women travel to Tulcea for EuroBasket Division B

The North Macedonia U18 women's national basketball team departed on 29 July 2026 for Tulcea, Romania, where it will compete at the FIBA U18 European Championship Division B from 31 July to 9 August 2026.

Group stage and objectives

The tournament in Tulcea features 20 national teams, with the top three finishers earning promotion to Division A. North Macedonia has been drawn into Group D alongside Denmark, Greece, Great Britain and Slovakia.

The team's opening fixture is scheduled for 31 July 2026 against Denmark. The coaching staff have framed the first game as crucial for establishing momentum in a strong continental field.

Head coach Viktor Petrovski led a preparatory cycle lasting almost a month, during which the squad played two away friendlies in Bulgaria and one final tune-up match against Kosovo. The preparations were disrupted by several injuries, but Petrovski reported a very good atmosphere in the group and a full focus on the debut match.

After the final training sessions the coaching staff confirmed a 12-player roster that will represent North Macedonia at the European Championship, with the clear aim of competing for the best possible placing and, if possible, a promotion spot to Division A.
