North Macedonia U20 women finish last at BVA qualifiers in Mostar
North Macedonia lost 1:3 to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the classification match in Mostar and ended the BVA qualifiers in last place.
North Macedonia's women’s U20 volleyball team finished bottom of the BVA zonal qualifiers in Mostar, ending their bid for a place at the 2027 European Championship. The team’s final match came on 23.08.2026.
Final placement decided in classification match
In the play-off to avoid last place, North Macedonia faced hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina and lost 1:3 (14:25, 25:23, 22:25, 14:25). The visitors took only the second set (25-23) and were competitive in the third set before conceding the match.
This defeat was the second against the same opponent in the tournament; North Macedonia had already been beaten 3:2 by Bosnia and Herzegovina during the group stage.
With the loss in Mostar, the U20 side finished as the lowest-ranked team of the BVA zonal qualifying event for the Euro 2027 cycle and will not advance from this stage.
The result follows a tournament in which the squad struggled for consistency and fell short of expectations in crucial moments.
