27 open‑space fires in North Macedonia — nine still active, two under control

The Crisis Management Center reported that 27 open‑space fires were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours; nine remain active, two are under control and 16 have been extinguished.

Active fires by municipality

Active blazes are registered in the municipality of Studenichani — near the villages of Morane, Vrtekica and Ramni Gaber; in Macedonski Brod municipality — at the Vidush area and the villages Dragov Dol and Lokvica; in Kicevo municipality — the village Tajmishte and the Darda locality; in Lipkovo municipality — near the village Nikushtak; in Krushevo municipality — near the villages Belushino and Jakrenovo; in Vrapchishte municipality — near the village Lomnica; in Zhelino municipality — near the village Cerovo; in Tetovo municipality — near the village Brodec; and in Prilep municipality — near the village Bonche.

Two fires have been brought under control: the landfill in Delchevo and the outbreaks around the Prilep villages of Chanishe, Krushevica, Lopatitsa and Dunje toward Crna Reka.

Firefighting crews continue to monitor the active fronts and work on containment and extinguishing where conditions allow. Authorities report that wind and local terrain remain factors in the progress of operations.

So far in the latest reporting period, responders extinguished 16 separate fires; teams remain mobilized across several regions to prevent new flare‑ups.

Officials urged residents in affected and nearby communities to avoid open flames and to report any new smoke or fire immediately.
