28-year-old with severe spinal injury transferred from Turkey and admitted to KARIL
The patient, previously operated on in Kusadasi, was urgently returned today and taken over by the Clinical Center team.
A 28-year-old man who suffered a serious spinal injury after falling from a water slide while on holiday in Turkey was urgently transferred back to the country today and admitted to KARIL.
Medical handover and current care
The patient was operated on earlier in Kusadasi; following his arrival he was taken over by the specialist team at the Clinical Center. Medical staff at KARIL are now evaluating his condition and continuing the necessary treatment.
Hospital sources say the transfer was carried out on an urgent basis to ensure continuity of care after the initial surgery abroad. The clinical team is coordinating diagnostic reassessments and planning further interventions as required.
No additional personal details about the patient have been released. Doctors have not yet published a prognosis while assessments and treatment continue.
Authorities involved in cross-border medical transfers facilitated the transport from Turkey to the country to enable the patient’s ongoing care at KARIL.
