69-year-old assaulted in Skopje's Center municipality

A 69-year-old resident of Skopje was assaulted on the morning of September 19, 2026, in the Center municipality, law enforcement records show.
Police take over investigation
The incident was reported to the Skopje Regional Police Department (SVR Skopje) at 11:30 that same day. According to the report, the attack took place at about 10:45 a.m.
Authorities say the victim is a 69-year-old man living in Skopje. The alleged attacker is a 36-year-old resident of Skopje; the confrontation occurred within the territory of the Center municipality.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has opened the case for full clarification and documentation. Police officials stated that once procedures are completed and all circumstances around the event are established, appropriate charges will be filed against the person responsible.
No additional details about the motive or the victim’s injuries have been released so far.
SVR Skopje continues to investigate the circumstances of the assault as it prepares case materials for possible prosecution.
