71-year-old from Skopje arrested in Ohrid after spraying people with flammable liquid
Police say the incident occurred on August 23 and that the suspect will face a criminal complaint under Article 288 of the Criminal Code.

A 71-year-old man from Skopje has been arrested in Ohrid after allegedly spraying several people with a flammable liquid and threatening them, the police said.

According to police, the arrest was made on August 23, 2026. Officers from the Ohrid regional police detained B.K. (71) after a prior report that he had behaved aggressively and threatened a 28-year-old man from Kichevo and other people, and then sprayed them with a flammable substance.
“On 23.08.2026 at 18:30 on Krushevska Republika Square in Ohrid, police officers from the Ohrid Regional Police Directorate arrested B.K. (71) from Skopje, acting on a previous report that in a house in Ohrid he had behaved aggressively and directed threats at M.J. (28) from Kichevo and other persons present, and then sprayed them with a flammable liquid. After fully documenting the event, a criminal complaint will be filed against him under Article 288 of the Criminal Code – ‘causing general danger’,” the police said.
Police did not release further personal details about the suspect beyond his initials and age. The investigation is ongoing while authorities complete evidentiary procedures and prepare charges.
If criminal charges are filed under Article 288, the case will proceed through the basic court system; investigators said they are compiling statements from witnesses and other material evidence collected at the scene.
