Agria ships first Macedonian pork to Albania after four decades
Veles-based Agria shipped seven tonnes of fresh pork to Albanian markets, the company says the first pork export from North Macedonia in some 40 years.

Agria, the meat producer based in Veles, has sent the first consignments of fresh pork to Albania, marking what the company says is the first Macedonian pork export in four decades.
The Veles-based firm — described by local industry sources as the country's largest pork producer — shipped seven tonnes of fresh pork to markets in Albania, a move the company calls the start of regional sales.
First shipment and its reach
According to company officials, the cargo left production facilities in Veles and entered Albanian wholesale channels this week. The shipment totals seven tonnes and represents a pilot step toward broader exports to neighbouring markets.
"We exported the first seven tonnes of pork to markets in Albania. This is the first export of pork from North Macedonia to this country and the first export of pork from North Macedonia overall. Therefore it matters not only for us as a company, but for the Macedonian economy," said Tomislav Kolevski, director at Agria.
Company representatives say the move is intended to open new sales routes in the region and to demonstrate that local production can meet export quality and volume requirements. Agria positions itself as the leading domestic supplier and hopes the shipment will be followed by regular cross‑border deliveries.
