Two active fires in Mogila and Ropotovo — seven open fires recorded by 1:00 PM
CUK: two fires active, two under control and three extinguished; affected areas include Mogila, Ropotovo, a Delchevo landfill and Greshnica.
Seven open-space fires were recorded today until 1:00 PM across the country; two remain active, two are under control and three have been extinguished, the Center for Crisis Management (CUK) reported this afternoon.
Current locations and status
Of the two active incidents, one is in the cadastral area of the village of Mogila, where low vegetation is burning. The second active fire is in the territory of the Municipality of Dolneni, in the vicinity of the village of Ropotovo, where stubble has caught fire.
Fires that have been placed under control include a blaze at a landfill in the Municipality of Delchevo and a fire in a locality known as "Stojanova naselba" in the area of the village of Greshnica, Municipality of Makedonski Brod, where low vegetation, degraded forest and shrubs were affected.
The extinguished fires were recorded in the municipalities of Vasilevo, Gostivar and Petrovec.
The CUK statement lists the number and locations of the incidents as of 1:00 PM today and confirms that crews continue monitoring and responding to the active and controlled fires.
