Alkaloid and Vardar 1961 seek second wins as Ohrid host Struga derby
Six Superleague fixtures on September 12, 2026 include the Ohrid–Struga derby and matches featuring Vardar 1961 and Alkaloid.
Six fixtures of the Macedonian men's handball Superleague's second round are scheduled for September 12, 2026, with several matches that could shape the early table. Defending champion Vardar 1961 and Alkaloid both enter aiming to extend winning starts from the opening weekend.
Eurofarm Pelister will host Multi Esens in Bitola at 16:30; Pelister come into the round after a 28:28 draw with Ohrid in the first round and will look for a first victory. Alkaloid travel to face Eurofarm Pelister 2 in a separate Bitola match, while Vardar 1961 visit Kumanovo.
Key local derby and other fixtures
The lake derby in Ohrid kicks off at 19:00 when Ohrid welcome neighbours Struga. Ohrid opened the season with a 28:28 tie against Eurofarm Pelister, while Struga suffered a narrow defeat to Tikvesh in round one.
In Kavadarci, Tikvesh 2014 take on Butel in a match between two teams that each collected one point in the opening round. Mladost will host Prilep at 19:30; Prilep arrive buoyed by a comprehensive win over Kumanovo in the season opener.
Both Vardar 1961 and Alkaloid begin round two with the maximum two points and will be keen to maintain their winning rhythm as the Superleague calendar intensifies.
