Big lead and one last training before the rematch
The nine-goal margin gives Alkaloid a strong position as they target progression to the third round of the competition. The players under coach Kiril Lazarov completed a final training session on the day of departure and will hold one last workout before the game.
The return match is scheduled for October 24, 2026 with a 19:00 start time. Alkaloid aim to protect their lead in Ferlach and secure passage to the next stage.
Alkaloid hold a special place in Macedonian club handball history: they were the first Macedonian team to lift the EHF European Cup. After a one-year pause, Lazarov and his squad have returned to the competition and are now fighting to move forward.
With the aggregate cushion and experience in European ties, Alkaloid enter the match as favorites, but the team will still need focus and intensity in Austria to confirm their promotion to the third round.
