Ana Brnabić becomes acting President of Serbia

Ana Brnabić is acting President of Serbia from today, after Aleksandar Vučić officially handed over the presidential function following his resignation yesterday.
Handover at the Presidency
The transfer took place this morning at the Presidency of Serbia. Vučić presented Brnabić with the presidential seal, the documents related to pardons and other records he kept while in office. He also gave her a bouquet of pink roses.
Brnabić, who until now served as President of the National Assembly, said she will perform the duties of the office until a new president is elected.
“I will safeguard this post until the election of a president,” Brnabić said during the handover.
The change of authority follows Vučić’s resignation, which took place yesterday, and the formal handover completed the procedural transfer of presidential responsibilities.
