Anticyclone brings stable, dry conditions to North Macedonia; colder mornings on Nov 7–8
High pressure will keep precipitation away from Nov 4, but morning frosts are likely in higher areas on 7–8 November.

Published 04 November 2026 — After a spell of unstable weather, North Macedonia will see a period of drier, more settled conditions starting Wednesday, 4 November, meteorologists say. Clearer skies and sunshine are expected intermittently, though mornings will remain cool and some valleys may see fog.
Anticyclone moves in, bringing stable weather
Forecaster Slavcho Poposki says a high-pressure field — an anticyclone — is establishing itself over the country and will keep precipitation away for the coming days.
"A field of high atmospheric pressure (an anticyclone) is forming over North Macedonia, which from Wednesday, 4 November, and in the days after will bring us stable and dry weather without precipitation. We will have variable cloudiness with occasional sunny periods, and a light to moderate wind from the north and northeast," Poposki explains.
Despite the overall stabilization, fog may form in the mornings in sheltered basins and along river valleys. "In the morning hours in basins and river valleys there will be conditions for the appearance of fog," the meteorologist warns.
Skopje and its surroundings will follow the same pattern: variable cloud with occasional sunshine, no rain, and a light to moderate northerly wind. Morning temperatures in the capital are expected between 8 and 9 °C, with daytime highs of 13–14 °C. Elsewhere, minimums should range from 3 to 11 °C and daytime maxima from 9 to 15 °C.
A sharper change is forecast for the weekend. "A reduction of cloudiness is expected during the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 7 and 8 November, when morning temperatures will be significantly lower. It will be colder, with minimum morning temperatures that especially in higher settlements and in the mountains will drop below zero and there will be occurrences of frost and hoar frost," the meteorologist announces. That means clear, dry days but colder nights, and frost on higher ground.
