The Army marks its 34th anniversary with ceremonies in Skopje and Shtip, including an evening artillery salute and a parade of infantry units.
Program in Skopje and Shtip
In Skopje, at the Ilinden barracks, an honorary artillery firing is scheduled for 19:00, when the artillery battalion will fire 10 salvos from six artillery pieces. Earlier, at 18:00, a trial artillery firing will take place consisting of one salvo from the same six artillery pieces.
In Shtip, the anniversary will be observed at the Jane Sandanski barracks with a review of the Second Infantry Battalion and other Army units.
Representatives of the Army's higher command, mayors, directors and heads of public enterprises and institutions in Shtip, and representatives of religious communities are expected to attend, the General Staff said.
The events form part of a series of activities organised to commemorate the founding of the Army 34 years ago.
