Bradley Barcola: Premier League is a 'madness' — you have to run from goal to goal

Liverpool's expensive new signing, Bradley Barcola, has warned that the Premier League's relentless pace is unlike what he knew in France. The 22-year-old attacker compared the English top flight with Ligue 1, saying the main difference is the constant physical demand created by nonstop running.

"Matches are played with running from one goal to the other"

Barcola said Ligue 1 features many physically strong players who use their power, but that the Premier League requires more sustained running. He admitted the intensity of the matches has already taken a toll on him on the pitch.

"Ligue 1 is very strong on a physical level, with many strong players who use their physical power. But in the Premier League, the physical effort is greater because of the running you must do constantly. Matches are played with running from one goal to the other," Barcola explained.

The French forward also revealed that in his first appearances he experienced cramps as his body adjusted to the higher demands of English football.

Despite the early difficulties, Barcola said the intense style was one of the reasons he moved to England. "The intensity is really high, but that's exactly why I came here. For me this is a new challenge and I hope I will adapt successfully," the French attacker added.
