White House launches 24/7 "Trump TV" after revoking credentials for CNN, Politico and MS NOW
The administration opened a nonstop YouTube stream that began with Trump’s July 3 Mount Rushmore address, days after credentials for CNN, Politico and MS NOW were revoked.
The White House on Monday unveiled a 24-hour streaming channel called "Trump TV" that will run archived footage, major remarks and administration highlights around the clock on YouTube.
Launch, programming and first broadcast
The channel went live at 7 p.m. local time and opened its schedule with President Donald Trump’s July 3 speech at Mount Rushmore. White House officials said the platform will gather “top videos, major remarks and must‑see highlights streaming 24/7 and updated in real time” in one place.
In a statement the White House described the new outlet as a way to consolidate footage and announcements: "'Trump TV' is now available to watch. 24/7, with updates in real time — the best moments from the past, statements, as well as the latest and most important activities of the administration. Stay informed and up to date with the latest events! Not every important moment so far was shown on your television, but now it will be," the White House said.
The launch was accompanied by a promotional clip posted to the White House YouTube channel that mixed short excerpts from films and television series with the channel’s branding and the label "Trump TV" over the images.
The stream arrives days after President Trump revoked White House press credentials for journalists from CNN, Politico and MS NOW and barred their news teams from the grounds. The president said the outlets had been spreading false reports about his administration.
Following the credential revocations, several other U.S. news organizations declined to participate in the shared television pool in solidarity with the barred outlets, disrupting the usual independent pool coverage of presidential events.
