Bledi Shkembi: Pleased with the performance but not the result

Struga TL were held to a 1:1 draw by Skopje in a surprising result on 10.08.2026, after a match in which the hosts created the clearer chances but could not turn them into three points.

Struga squandered numerous clear openings

Struga dominated especially in the first half, carving out five to six very good opportunities to score. They converted one of those chances; another apparent goal was ruled out, and the visitors took advantage of the rare moment they reached the home penalty area to score themselves. The combination left Struga with a single point.

After the game coach Bledi Shkembi reflected on the performance and the scoreline, acknowledging the gap between play and result.

"A match we prepared to win and I think we played to win. We had many chances to score more than one goal, but we failed to get a second. The opponent, in the rare moments they could enter our penalty area, managed to score. Despite a result we are disappointed with, overall I am satisfied with the players. Of course, if we had scored the second goal, I'm convinced we would have won. Still, I am convinced we will improve further and become a very strong team," said Shkembi.

Struga now turn their attention to round three, when they will host Vardar in Struga.
