Vardar vs Arsimi — Božović to make debut as champions chase victory
New coach Miodrag Grof Božović makes his first appearance as Vardar must begin a winning run in the sixth round of the PMFL.
07.09.2026 — At 19:00 tonight at the Petar Miloshevski training complex in Skopje, reigning Macedonian champion Vardar hosts Arsimi in the sixth round of this season's PMFL.
The match will mark the debut of the club's new coach, Miodrag Grof Božović, who arrived last week and has already overseen several training sessions with the squad.
Immediate pressure for results
Božović has not yet been formally presented by the club, but the expectation is clear: he was brought in to start delivering wins immediately. Vardar cannot afford another slip-up this season and must begin a winning run to chase back points and pressure their rivals.
The venue has already delivered surprises this round — on the same pitch Tikvesh stunned league leader Shkëndija, ending their perfect run — a result that helps Vardar's cause if they can take advantage.
If Vardar fail to show the required level and suffer a defeat similar to the losses against Struga TL or Shkëndija, the coaching appointment will quickly become a secondary concern to larger problems within the squad.
Earlier on the same day, at 16:00 in Struga, home side Trim Lum will meet Sileks in a separate league fixture.
