Ceca loses temper on Zvezde na Grand recording after Gjorgje David interruption
Ceca publicly scolded Gjorgje David on set after repeated interruptions; David later apologised for an unrelated remark about a Macedonian song.
During a recording of the talent show Zvezde na Grand, judge Svetlana Ceca Raznatović lost her temper after being interrupted by fellow juror Gjorgje David, triggering a tense exchange that broke the usual studio rhythm.
At one point Ceca addressed David in a raised voice and accused him of repeatedly cutting her off: "Gjorgje, I'm talking! Every time I speak, you interrupt me, man! You are the only one who interrupts me, you don't pay attention." David responded, apparently surprised, asking, "Me, the only one?"
Light relief from a colleague
The atmosphere relaxed when their colleague Dragan Stojković Keba stepped in with remarks that made the studio laugh; host Voja Nedeljković even dubbed him "Pera the liar" to the amusement of the audience.
The incident came shortly after renewed criticism of David in North Macedonia, following his earlier remark that the classic Macedonian song "Dali čekash stara majčice" by the late Goce Arnaudov was "an old Bulgarian song." The comment prompted strong reactions online and in public discussions.
David later posted an apology on social media, saying he had been mistaken and thanking people who corrected him: "I thank everyone from Macedonia who wrote to me and explained that I did not have accurate information. First of all I apologize to the Barbarovski brothers who wrote this song... Don't get heated, everyone knows how much I love Macedonia, so a mistake can happen to anyone," he wrote.
The episode underlined how the show continues to produce unscripted, headline-making moments — and how sensitive issues about musical heritage can quickly become part of the conversation around entertainment programmes.
