Four detained after two deadly home robberies in Skopje
Authorities detained four suspects and requested short-term custody while investigations and autopsies proceed.

Four men have been detained in connection with two violent robberies that ended with two people found dead inside their homes in the Skopje area, authorities said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs says three detainees are residents of Skopje aged 22, 20 and 58, and a fourth is a 26-year-old from Strumica. Short-term custody has been requested for all four as investigators work to complete the evidentiary material together with the Skopje Public Prosecutor's Office.
The recent case was discovered yesterday morning when a daughter found her 76-year-old mother unresponsive in the house on the street "Gjurchin Kokale". Emergency medical personnel pronounced the woman dead and police said there were visible signs of violence on the body; an autopsy has been ordered.
Police probe links two crimes under review
Five days earlier, on October 22, a 62-year-old man was found dead in his home in the Gjorche Petrov area; his body also showed signs of violence and an autopsy has been ordered. Authorities say both incidents are being treated as robberies that ended in homicide.
Police are investigating whether the two cases were part of a single plan and whether the victims were monitored or targeted in advance. The inquiry will also seek to determine the connection between the incidents and the role of each of the four suspects.
