30 wildfires extinguished in North Macedonia; one under control
CUK: 31 open-area fires recorded by 07:00 — none active, one under control at Kajorec near Belica, 30 fully extinguished.
The Crisis Management Centre (CUK) reported that, as of 07:00, a total of 31 fires in open areas were recorded across the country. Of those, none remain active: one fire is listed as under control and 30 have been fully extinguished.
Fire controlled near Belica, dozens more put out
The blaze currently under control is in the Municipality of Macedonski Brod, in the area of the village Belica at the site "Kajorec"; it spread toward Jasen in the Municipality of Sopishte and affected low-growing and mixed forest.
According to the report, during the past 24 hours 30 fires on open ground were extinguished.
In the Skopje region fires were registered in the municipalities of Gazi Baba, Butel, Chucher Sandevo, Arachinovo, Ilinden, Kisela Voda, Gjorce Petrov and Shuto Orizari. Burnt materials included low vegetation, low forest, refuse, stubble, reed and crops.
Fires were also recorded in Kumanovo, Vinica, Shtip, Kratovo, Staro Nagorichane, Zhelino, Vrapchishte, Ohrid, Kavadarci, Rosoman, Veles, Strumica, Valandovo and Lipkovo. Most incidents involved low vegetation, stubble, shrubs, straw and waste; some were at landfill sites.
The Crisis Management Centre confirmed that all 30 of those fires have been extinguished.
