Center for Crisis Management: 21 open‑area fires registered by 18:00, five active
The Center for Crisis Management said five fires are active, five under control and 11 extinguished; locations and vegetation types listed.
The Center for Crisis Management reported that, by 18:00 on 10 September 2026, a total of 21 open‑area fires had been registered across North Macedonia. Of those, five remained active, five were listed as under control and 11 had been extinguished, the agency said.
Active fires
Active fires were recorded in the Municipality of Struga: v. Burinec – v. Lokov – v. Selce – v. Elevci (tall‑tree forest); Municipality of Makedonski Brod: v. Belica, location Kajorec (low‑stem and mixed forest); Municipality of Chucher‑Sandevo: v. Brest, location Ramno (mixed forest); and Municipality of Novo Selo: v. Stinik (low vegetation) and v. Borisovo toward v. Koleshino (low vegetation and low‑stem forest).
Fires listed as under control included: Municipality of Makedonski Brod: v. Benche (forest fire); Municipality of Kičevo: v. Tajmište, location Darda (low vegetation); Municipality of Kičevo: v. Knežino, place called Crn Kamen (low vegetation and scrub); Municipality of Delčevo: city landfill (trash) and Municipality of Kriva Palanka: v. Osiče (low vegetation).
Extinguished fires reported by the Center included sites in multiple municipalities: Municipality of Struga: v. Vranishta (illegal landfill) and v. Radolišta (landfill); Municipality of Kumanovo: settlement Pero Čičo (low vegetation and trash); Municipality of Karpoš: Železni Most (low vegetation) and Ilinden Boulevard near the “Vodovod” site (low vegetation); Municipality of Krivogaštani: v. Krušeani (low vegetation); Municipality of Strumica: v. Bansko (landfill); Municipality of Želino: v. Želino (low vegetation and trash); Municipality of Jegunovce: v. Vratnica (low vegetation); Municipality of Gjorče Petrov: v. Gračani (forest); and Municipality of Šuto Orizari: near the New Star Hotel (trash and low vegetation).
