CMC: 28 open‑space fires registered, 11 active

By 18:00 this afternoon a total of 28 open‑space fires were registered across the country. The Center for Crisis Management (CMC) reports that of those, 11 are active, five are under control, and 12 have been extinguished.

Where the fires are active

The active fires are occurring in several municipalities and in different types of vegetation:

• Municipality of Gjorche Petrov: village Grachani and village Nikishtani; there is also an active fire on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo – forest.
• Municipality of Chucher‑Sandevo: village Brest, locality Ramno – mixed forest.
• Municipality of Chucher‑Sandevo: near the airfield in Stenkovec – low vegetation.
• Municipality of Struga: village Burinec – village Lokov – village Seltse – low‑stature woodland.
• Municipality of Makedonski Brod: village Belica, locality Kajorec toward village Breznica, near the repeater – low‑stature and mixed forest.
• Municipality of Brvenica: village Militino – low vegetation and shrubs.
• Municipality of Gradsko: village Nogaevci, spreading toward village Kochilari – low vegetation and pine forest.
• Municipality of Bitola: village Kremenica – village Germijan – stubble field.
• Municipality of Staro Nagorichane: village Rugince – low vegetation and low‑stature woodland.
• Municipalities of Kumanovo and Lipkovo: village Rechica and village Vaksince – low vegetation.
• Municipality of Kumanovo: near the railway line – low vegetation.

The CMC lists the vegetation types at each location — from low vegetation and shrubs to mixed and pine forest.

Fires reported as "under control" are in the Kicevo and Saraj regions, near the landfill in Delchevo and in Novo Selo. Incidents listed as extinguished occurred in Petrovec, Gazi Baba, Tearce, Kratovo, Lipkovo, Berovo, Shtip, Struga, Kicevo and Dolneni.

The CMC will monitor the situation and coordinate available firefighting forces; additional information will be released if the situation changes.
