Darija Krstevska breaks national U20 record in 3000m steeplechase

Darija Krstevska set a new national U20 record in the 3000 metres steeplechase at the Macedonian Cup for juniors held last weekend in Veles.

Representing AK Olimp, Krstevska completed the race in 12:09.33, lowering the previous under‑20 national best of 12:19.8 that Aleksandra Mitroska had set on 19 June 2010 in Marsa.

The mark improves the former record by more than ten seconds and stands out as one of Krstevska’s strongest performances this season.

The Athletics Federation of North Macedonia publicly congratulated Krstevska and her coach on the achievement and expressed wishes for continued success at forthcoming events.

The new record is the latest milestone in the career of the young Macedonian runner and strengthens her position among the country’s leading youth athletes ahead of the next competitions.
