Darko Pančev turns 61; daughters post emotional birthday messages
His daughters shared family photos and messages while Pančev celebrated his 61st birthday at home in Skopje.

Legendary Macedonian striker Darko Pančev marked his 61st birthday this week, a milestone that brought a wave of congratulations from fans, friends and former clubs — and the warmest wishes from his closest family.
Pančev’s daughters used social media to post heartfelt tributes. Nadica Pančeva shared a polished family photograph alongside an emotional message: “Happy 61st birthday to the best father! Thank you for all the love, support and for always being my rock. I love you endlessly! May you live long and healthy for many, many more years!”
Her sister, Marija, posted an archival image taken about two decades ago showing a very young Pančev cradling her when she was a baby; the simple caption read: “I love you.”
From a globe-trotting career to a quiet life in Skopje
After a distinguished international career that included spells at Vardar, Red Star, Inter, Lokomotiva, Fortuna and Sion, Pančev chose to settle back in his hometown of Skopje with his wife Maja Grozdanovska-Pančev, herself long known as one of the leading singers on the Macedonian stage.
Despite the former star’s wide popularity, he and Maja have repeatedly said their priority was raising their daughters in a modest, healthy environment. Pančev has jokingly remarked that with three women in the house he has long since “lost the right to vote,” a line fans often repeat when talking about the family’s warm dynamic.
