Nine wildfires active across the country, two brought under control
By 13:00 on 13 August 2026 authorities recorded 13 open‑area fires; the Delchevo landfill and Manastirsko Dolenci blazes are under control.

By 13:00 on 13 August 2026 authorities registered a total of 13 open‑area fires across North Macedonia. Of those, nine remained active, two were reported under control and two had been fully extinguished, the Center for Crisis Management said in an afternoon update.
Where the fires are
Among the active blazes, a mixed forest fire is burning in the Studeničani municipality.
Low vegetation fires are reported in the municipalities of Veles, Prilep, Struga, Novaci, Makedonski Brod and Mogila.
In the area of the village of Muzdivnjak, Kriva Palanka municipality, crews are battling a fire that has involved low vegetation and acacia trees.
A separate incident on the Prilep–Bitola highway affected low vegetation and a weekend house.
Two fires were listed as under control: a blaze at the municipal landfill in Delchevo municipality and a fire in the Kičevo area village of Manastirsko Dolenci, where low‑stem degraded forest has burned.
The two extinguished fires were reported in the territories of Bosilovo and Jegunovce municipalities. Near the village of Staro Baldovci the fire consumed low vegetation and stubble (harvest residue), while on the grounds of the village of Kopance the fire affected forest and low vegetation.
