Dimitar Blazhevski presented letters of credence to President Zelenskyy
On 31 July 2026 in Kyiv Blazhevski officially assumed the position of head of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of North Macedonia.
President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on 31 July 2026 in Kyiv received the letters of credence from Dimitar Blazhevski, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The formal ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace with full state honors. By presenting his letters of credence, Ambassador Blazhevski officially assumed the role of head of North Macedonia's diplomatic mission in Kyiv.
A new chapter in bilateral relations
The appointment of an ambassador in Kyiv comes at a time of intensified cooperation between the two countries and aims to deepen the political and operational channels of communication between the authorities in Skopje and Kyiv.
North Macedonia is one of the largest donors of weapons and equipment to Ukraine relative to its GDP.
In the coming period the mission will focus on strengthening cooperation with Ukrainian institutions, coordinating humanitarian and security assistance, and providing consular services to citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia on the ground.
