Director of Sveti Nikole health center charged with abuse after 75,000 denars of assets were alienated

Police have filed a criminal complaint against S.B. (63), the director of JZU Health Center "Primarius Dr. Gjorgji Gavrilski" in Sveti Nikole, on suspicion of the criminal offence of "abuse of official position and authority".

Details of the allegation

According to the police statement, during 2025 while serving as director of the Health Center, S.B. failed to follow the provisions of the Law on the Use and Disposal of Items in State and Municipal Ownership. Without initiating the required procedure and without obtaining the Government's consent, he alienated movable items for which there were no proper records of type and quantity.

The total value of the items is reported as 75,000 denars. By enabling third parties to acquire unlawful property gain, the complaint says, the suspect caused damage to the Ministry of Health in the same amount.

Prosecutors and investigators will now examine the case file and determine whether there is sufficient evidence to bring formal charges. The criminal complaint names the specific violations of procedure and the missing consent as central elements of the accusation.

The Health Center involved—JZU Health Center "Primarius Dr. Gjorgji Gavrilski" in Sveti Nikole—provides primary care services to the local municipality. The institution's operations and asset records will be part of the investigation, police said.

The case continues to be handled by the competent authorities; no further details about the alleged recipients of the items or their identities were released in the police announcement.
