Dobrila Ivanovska Čabrić, Approaching 99, Swims in Lake Dojran and Still Enjoys Casino Nights

Dobrila Ivanovska Čabrić, the winner of the third season of the music show "Never Too Late", is approaching her 99th birthday and continues to surprise with an indomitable energy and a very active daily routine.

She openly says that her evenings are anything but quiet. "I always go out at night. To the casino, of course! I was a casino manager for six years and that business is very familiar to me. I have many friends who come from Greece, so where else to meet but at the casino? Restaurants don't interest me because I cook for myself. In the casino there's that excitement, for me it's therapy! A bit of laughter, jokes, and even an argument… It's all part of life," the energetic Dojran resident says.

Despite the years, Ivanovska Čabrić still drives her own car, travels around the region and keeps a regular swimming habit in Lake Dojran. "My walking is a bit difficult, but I swim! I drive down to the lake, I finish whatever I need to, I plunge into the water, I swim and I go home," she adds candidly.

Attitude, work and a terrace with a view

She credits a positive mindset and remaining occupied as her main elixirs for longevity. Overlooking Lake Dojran from her terrace, Dobrila stresses how staying busy keeps worries away. "Many fall into depression already in their seventies. They think they are old and that everything hurts them. As for me, whether I hurt or not, I quickly solve it with work! I always take something that preoccupies me so I don't think about illnesses or death. No, no, that doesn't pass with me — I live life to the fullest!" she says.

Her daily calm also comes from handicrafts: knitting and making clothes are her greatest hobbies. She has even organized three fashion shows featuring her creations, and she says the manual work soothes her and fills her with positive energy.

With that approach, Ivanovska Čabrić demonstrates that age can remain, for many purposes, only a number on paper.
