Police in Macedonska Kamenica detained a 23-year-old woman after a violent family dispute on the evening of August 27, 2026, authorities said.
The incident, which unfolded inside a family home, left the woman's father-in-law with a leg injury after a thrown knife; the father-in-law then struck the woman with a hard object, according to the police account.

"On 27.08.2026 at 21:35 in Macedonska Kamenica, police officers from the Macedonska Kamenica Police Station deprived a 23-year-old woman from Macedonska Kamenica of liberty, acting on a prior report that in the family home she threw a knife at her father-in-law. At the scene, according to the report to the Macedonska Kamenica Police Station, a dispute between the woman and her husband preceded the event, after which the 23-year-old woman first physically attacked her mother-in-law, and then threw a knife at the father-in-law and hit him in the leg, after which he struck her with a hard object. After the case is fully clarified, appropriate charges will follow," the police said.
Police said officers from the local station responded to a report and carried out an on-site investigation before detaining the woman. No further details on the condition of the injured father-in-law were provided by the police statement.
Authorities announced that, following the completion of investigative procedures, they will file the appropriate legal charges. The case remains under further processing by the Macedonska Kamenica Police Station.
