Serbian police say a 43-year-old Macedonian national offered money to traffic officers to avoid a speeding ticket.

A 43-year-old citizen of North Macedonia was arrested in Serbia yesterday on suspicion of attempting to bribe police officers, Serbian authorities announced.
Authorities say the suspect offered money to avoid a traffic ticket
According to the statement, units from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia — including the Criminal Police Directorate and the Anti-Corruption Service — carried out the arrest on the order of the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption at the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Kraljevo.
The suspect, identified by the initials Z. A., is accused of offering money to officers from the Traffic Police Directorate so they would not issue him a misdemeanor ticket for traffic violations he allegedly committed.
Police say the man was driving on a highway near Kraljevo, exceeded the speed limit and was travelling in the left lane while the right lane was free for traffic.
He has been detained for up to 48 hours; after that period prosecutors will receive a criminal complaint and decide on further action.
