State Inspectorate for Agriculture: 873 inspections, 17 payment orders — only 3 paid

The State Inspectorate for Agriculture carried out 873 extraordinary inspections this year at registered legal entities that purchase agricultural products, the agency reported. Inspectors focused on buying practices for peppers and apples, how prices are formed and changed, and the conditions attached to purchases.

During these checks authorities imposed 30 different inspection measures including bans, warnings, orders and obligations. As a result of identified irregularities in procurement, inspectors issued 17 payment orders to buyers.

Common violations and unpaid orders

The most frequent problems found were purchases made without contracts with producers, unpaid liabilities toward producers for the products bought, failure to display a price list, non-compliance with payment deadlines, and the absence of measuring instruments for procured goods.

Inspectors note that of the 17 payment orders issued to buyers, only 3 have been paid so far. The remaining orders remain unsettled while investigations and administrative procedures continue.

The inspectorate’s actions reflect intensified oversight of the buying chain for key fruit and vegetable products this year, aimed at protecting producers’ rights and ensuring transparency in how procurement prices and terms are set.
