Two burned bodies were found in Bogdanci on November 3, 2026, after a car fire at a spot known locally as "Icheva Cheshma" in the village area called Gorno Selo. Emergency teams declared a 21-year-old man dead at the scene; firefighters discovered a second charred body inside the vehicle.

Police: earlier domestic-violence report involving a minor

The discovery reopened questions about an earlier reported case of partner violence involving a 17-year-old girl. A police bulletin dated October 1, 2026, recorded that officers detained a 21-year-old resident of Bogdanci following a complaint that he had physically assaulted his underage girlfriend.

As the bulletin states: "Police officers detained a 21-year-old resident of Bogdanci. According to the report, on 30.09.2026 at around 21:00 in his home he physically attacked his 17-year-old girlfriend. The incident was reported to the public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Gevgelija, and after documenting the case an appropriate charge will be filed." The statement came from the Ministry of Interior's bulletin.

Unofficial reports say the girl told people in her circle about repeated threats and assaults, and that there was an incident in which the man allegedly tried to attack her with a knife and she escaped through a window. Those details have not yet been officially confirmed by investigators.

The victim recovered at the scene was identified by initials as 21-year-old V.G. from Bogdanci; a medical emergency crew pronounced him dead. Authorities have ordered autopsies to determine the cause of death for both victims and to confirm the identity of the second body.

Investigators have not yet clarified how the fire started, what caused the two deaths, or whether the earlier report of partner violence is connected to the events on November 3. Prosecutors in Gevgelija are supervising the probe.
