One dead, two injured after car runs off road in Slatina near Šabac
Vehicle left the road at about 6:20 a.m.; occupants were trapped and later extracted by fire-and-rescue teams.
A fatal road crash on the morning of 22 September 2026 left one person dead and two others injured in the village of Slatina, near Šabac in Serbia.
Accident and rescue
The collision occurred at about 6:20 a.m., when a car ran off the roadway. Three people were inside the vehicle at the time.
Local witnesses and emergency dispatch report that after the vehicle left the road the occupants became trapped, prompting calls to fire-and-rescue teams. Before emergency crews arrived, one of the three had already been pulled from the wreckage.
Firefighters and rescuers then carried out an extraction of the remaining occupants. They succeeded in removing both, but medical personnel at the scene declared one person dead; the other two suffered injuries.
Authorities have not released details about the condition or the exact nature of the injuries sustained by the survivors, nor the identities of those involved. The causes that led the driver to lose control and the car to leave the road are also not yet known.
Relevant services worked at the scene, and an investigation is expected to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
