EHF Cup: Alkaloid to host Ferlach on October 17, Butel starts away
Second-round dates are set — Alkaloid open at home on 17 October 2026, Butel travels to Gorica and Ohrid will host both matches against Spor Toto.
28 September 2026 — The dates for the second round of the EHF European Cup have been confirmed for Macedonian clubs. Alkaloid, listed as the competition winners for the 2024/25 season, will open their tie against Ferlach at home on 17 October 2026; the return leg is scheduled a week later in Austria.
Butel will begin its tie against Gorica on 17 October 2026 with the first match played in Croatia. The return match is set for 24 October 2026 in Skopje.
Regarding GRK Ohrid, it has been known for several days that the current EHF Cup winner will play both matches against Spor Toto of Turkey on home ground, scheduled for 23 and 24 October 2026.
Schedule and logistics for Macedonian sides
The draw produced a mix of home-and-away fixtures and an unusual arrangement for Ohrid, which will host both legs of its tie. For Alkaloid and Butel the ties follow the more typical home-and-away pattern, with first legs on 17 October and return legs on 24 October 2026.
Clubs now have to finalise travel and match preparations ahead of mid-October. The confirmed dates give the Macedonian sides a clear calendar to prepare for the second round of the EHF European Cup.
