Muhamed Elmazi: Radusha landfill cleared, saplings planted
The mayor of Saraj says the cleanup fulfilled a campaign promise and the municipality planted saplings to turn the site into a green public space.
On 26 September 2026 the mayor of the municipality of Saraj, Muhamed Elmazi, announced that the Radusha landfill has been cleaned and that saplings were planted on the site.
Elmazi said the cleanup answered a demand from local residents and fulfilled a promise made during the election campaign.
From waste to green space
"Where yesterday there was garbage, today we plant life. The cleaning of the Radusha landfill was a demand from the residents and a promise we made during the campaign. Today, that demand has been fulfilled, but we did not stop at cleaning.
Today we planted saplings in this area, with the aim of turning a place that was once a symbol of garbage into a clean and green space for the community," the mayor said.
Elmazi emphasised that the intervention was a response to citizens' complaints and one of the commitments from his campaign, and said the municipality will work to maintain the site so it remains a communal green area.
