Facebook rolls out 'Your Algorithm' — users can set what they see more or less often

Facebook is introducing a new AI-powered option that gives users direct control over how often certain posts and videos appear in their feed.

"Your Algorithm" lets people steer recommendations in their own words

The feature, called "Your Algorithm," allows users to describe their interests and preferences in plain language. Meta says those inputs will influence the content the platform recommends, and that changes will be reflected in real time.

Meta has also updated the menu that opens when a user clicks the three dots next to a post. From there people will be able to access "Your Algorithm" or mark whether a specific item is something they like or dislike, giving more immediate signals to the recommendation system.

The company said the platform may pose additional follow-up questions to better understand what a user wants to see more or less of, a step intended to refine the AI’s understanding of individual preferences.

Meta presents the rollout as part of a broader effort to give people more control over the content shown to them, letting users steer automated recommendations rather than relying solely on the platform’s default algorithms.
