Filipce: Mickoski is preparing €1.3 billion in new debt — citizens will pay the bill
The SDSM leader claims the Cabinet approved the need for new borrowing and is demanding a public response from Mickoski's government.
SDSM President Venko Filipče delivered harsh criticism against the government led by Hristijan Mickoski at today's press conference, alleging that a new, massive state borrowing is being prepared.
According to the information presented by Filipče, a need for new borrowing was adopted at yesterday's government session. "According to our information, at yesterday's Government session, a need for new borrowing of the country was adopted. And that, imagine, is the sum of one billion and 300 million euros," he stated.
Allegations of continuous debt growth
Filipče claims that this new borrowing comes in addition to the already increased debt in the past period. "So the government is indebting us again with a new one billion and 300 million euros. Money in addition to those two and a half billion euros with which they increased the state's debt," the opposition leader alleged.
He warned that the burden of these financial moves will fall directly on the citizens. "Money that all of us will return. Why? Because of their bad economic policies," Filipče concluded, linking the economic situation with the trend of emigration from the country.
