Filipche: You Deliberately Blocked the European Path — Who, Prime Minister, Is to Blame for All This?

SDSM leader Venko Filipche accused Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski in the Parliament of deliberately blocking the country's European path — and of then admitting that the claims with which he had persuaded the public for years were not true.

"You accused, you divided people into patriots and traitors. You said the protocols were part of the negotiating framework, that we were not negotiating with Europe but with Bulgaria, that the language and identity were endangered. Only for you — and the Minister of Foreign Affairs — to admit a few days ago that everything you had been saying was not true," Filipche said.

"So are our arguments not being confirmed now? That you deliberately do not want to be in Europe. That you deliberately blocked the European path," he added.

According to Filipche, the damage extends to foreign policy: "How will you now explain to people in Europe, who know you are not telling the truth, that you are not doing this deliberately? You have destroyed the credibility of the state. There is no more excuse — a deliberately blocked path, four years, during which you are the ones now in power."

The address ended with the question that summed up the entire debate: "Who, Prime Minister, is to blame for these things? I know — you will say Venko is to blame, SDSM is to blame for everything. But the citizens know that you bear the responsibility for all of this. I want to hear it from you: who, Prime Minister, is to blame for all these things in the state?"
