Finland offers free "Finnish Dinner Date" trips for singles in 2027
Visit Finland will pick 16 international participants for four‑day trips to Helsinki and Tampere, including organised dinners with local singles and covered expenses.

Finland has launched an unusual tourism campaign called "Finnish Dinner Date" that invites single travellers from around the world to apply for a free, four‑day visit focused on dinners and meeting local singles.
The campaign is organised by Visit Finland and will select 16 international participants, split into two groups of eight. One group will travel to Helsinki and the other to Tampere; each organised dinner will include two local single men or women invited to join the guests.
What the trip includes and when it happens
Selected participants will receive a four‑day trip with transport, accommodation, meals and planned activities covered. The trips are scheduled to take place within the period from 9 to 19 February 2027.
The initiative blends tourism promotion with a romantic angle: organisers say they want visitors to experience Finnish culture and cuisine up close, sample specially prepared menus by well‑known Finnish chefs, form new friendships—and possibly find love.
The campaign was inspired by a shopping trend spreading on social media in Finland: some single shoppers use pink baskets in supermarkets as a visible sign that they are single and open to being approached. Visit Finland decided to scale the idea for an international audience.
To apply, candidates must record a short video in English answering the question what they would serve during a romantic dinner and why. Applicants must post the video on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube with the tag #FinnishDinnerDate and then complete the official application form. The application deadline is 10 November 2026 at 11:59 Finnish time; the selected participants will be announced publicly on 1 December.
Organisers emphasise that the goal is not solely to find romantic partners but to promote Finnish gastronomy, traditions and local hospitality while offering travellers a memorable and social way to see the country.
