North Macedonia U17 women draw 3:3 with Wales, finish second in group

North Macedonia's under-17 women's team played out an eventful 3:3 draw with Wales on October 31, 2026, in the final match of their qualifying tournament for the European Championship and finished second in B League Group B4.

The match began with an early setback for Wales when Katie Whiteway put the ball into her own net in the fourth minute to give North Macedonia a 1:0 lead. Wales responded in the first half: Maja Halcrow levelled in the 22nd minute and Maja Caswell put Wales ahead 2:1 five minutes later.

North Macedonia fought back after halftime. Emilija Ivkovic converted in the 51st minute to make it 2:2. Wales regained the lead in the 57th minute through Caswell, but Ivkovic struck again in the 65th minute to level the score at 3:3, which remained the final result.

In the other game of the last round, Luxembourg took a 1:0 victory over hosts Georgia.

When the group standings were finalised, the squad coached by Katerina Mileska finished second with four points — three fewer than group winners Wales. Luxembourg ended third and Georgia fourth.

The draw secures a competitive showing for North Macedonia in League B's Group B4 as the team looks ahead to future age-group competitions.
