The Health Insurance Fund (FZOM) paid out a total of 621,383,663 denars in October 2026 for temporary incapacity and maternity allowances, the Fund reported.
The largest share—467,074,428 denars—went to maternity benefits paid during the month. Other sickness-related allowances accounted for 154,309,235 denars.
According to the Fund, the October payment for maternity benefits increased by more than 25 percent compared with September and represents the highest single-month payout for that category in the July–October 2026 period.
Accumulated payouts and trend
Between July and October 2026 the Fund paid more than 2.35 billion denars for sickness and maternity absences, of which over 1.66 billion denars were for maternity benefits.
“Behind every paid allowance stands a specific right, and behind every right — a person, a parent or a family for whom financial predictability is of particular importance. Health insurance funds belong to the insured, and it is our duty that they are used lawfully, responsibly and on time,” the Fund said.
The Fund added that its management aims to make timely and regular payments a permanent systemic standard rather than an exception, and announced further steps to improve internal organisation, speed up application processing and maintain a stable payment rhythm.
