Gazeli Volej signs Sohila Wafek and Nikoleta Kapici

Gazeli Volej announced on October 7, 2026 that it has completed its roster for the 2026/27 season with two international signings: Egyptian national setter Sohila Wafek and American middle blocker Nikoleta Kapici.

Two experienced additions

Sohila Wafek will join Gazeli Volej as a setter. Wafek brings wide international experience: she played collegiate volleyball in the United States for the University of Illinois Chicago and the University of New Mexico, represented Al-Ahly SC in Egypt, and last season was a member of Hungarian side Fatum Nyíregyháza, reaching the round of 16 in the CEV Challenge Cup.

Nikoleta Kapici arrives as a middle blocker standing 189 centimeters tall. Kapici’s formative years included spells at Eastern Washington University, the University of Tennessee and the University of South Alabama. She continued her career in Europe, first with Pölkky Kuusamo in Finland and most recently wearing the Leixões SC jersey in Portugal.

Gazeli Volej said the two signings complete the club’s international reinforcements and round out the squad for the new season. The club enters 2026/27 aiming to add quality and to compete for the championship title.

The signings were disclosed by the club on October 7, 2026, as Gazeli Volej finalised its preparations ahead of the domestic championship campaign.
