Božović reimposes quarantine — Vardar hold closed camp ahead of Bashkimi match
Miodrag Božović gathered the squad at the Hipodrom base on September 12, 2026 as Vardar travel to Kumanovo to face Bashkimi and seek three points.

Vardar will not take its trip to Kumanovo lightly despite facing a side that on paper looks manageable: the team travels to meet Bashkimi on September 12, 2026, but coach Miodrag Božović — known as "Grof" — has reimposed a closed-camp regime ahead of the match.
Božović gathered the squad yesterday at the club's Hipodrom training base so the players could prepare in isolation and keep full focus on securing the three points that Vardar needs in the early stages of the season.
Discipline and caution after a turbulent summer
The decision reflects how unpredictable the opening seven rounds have been this campaign, when several matches proved that even smaller teams can cause headaches for title contenders.
Vardar also arrived at the new season with off-field issues. The club faced incidents linked to players behaving as "night birds" and other breaches of the internal code during the summer.
One clear change to the squad is the absence of Gerson Rodrigues. After only a few weeks in the red-and-black shirt, he terminated his contract with the club and left on a one-way ticket.
