Brawl in Tetovo after 27-year-old threatened woman; families clash
Police say a threat in a shopping centre led to a later confrontation between relatives that left a woman’s car and phone damaged.
A violent confrontation erupted in Tetovo the evening of September 14, 2026, after a 27-year-old man threatened a 22-year-old woman and later clashed with members of both families, the Tetovo police reported.
"On 14.09.2026 at 19:00 hours, police officers from SVR Tetovo detained F. Sh. (27) from the village of Golema Rechica, Tetovo municipality. Earlier, the 22-year-old F. A. from Tetovo reported that at about 15:50 hours in a shopping center in Tetovo, F. Sh. threatened her, and later, together with her family, they went to his home to speak with his parents. F. Sh. physically attacked her, her mother E. A. (50) and her uncle Lj. A. (48), and his own mother and aunt joined the attack. According to the report, F. Sh. damaged her passenger car, a Volkswagen Golf with Tetovo license plates, and her mobile phone. F. Sh. is being held at a police station and after the case is fully documented an appropriate complaint will be filed against him," the police bulletin states.
Police detained suspect, investigation ongoing
Authorities say the clash involved multiple relatives on both sides and resulted in property damage to the woman's vehicle and her phone. The detained man remains in custody while officers collect evidence and statements.
The police timeline in the bulletin gives two separate moments on 14 September: an alleged threat in a Tetovo shopping centre at about 15:50 and the subsequent confrontation later the same day in front of the suspect's home in Golema Rechica.
The Tetovo police said they will finish documenting the case and then submit the appropriate charges against the detained 27-year-old.
