New outdoor fitness area built at Mirche Acev Primary School
Project by Gjorche Petrov Municipality with support from the Ministry of Transport and Communications; the new zone is one of three planned.
A new outdoor fitness area has been completed in the yard of Mirche Acev Primary School as part of a municipal project supported by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Facility for pupils and residents
The installation is one of three fitness zones planned under the scheme. The municipality says the site features modern exercise equipment intended to provide pupils and young people with a functional space for training, recreation and general physical activity, and that it will also serve residents of the wider neighbourhood.
“In the recent period we have invested in new and reconstructed sports fields, fitness and calisthenics zones, as well as in improving school sports infrastructure. Our goal is for sport to be accessible to everyone, and especially to our children and youth. This investment is another step in that continuity. Thanks to the Ministry of Transport and Communications for the support in implementing the project,” said Aleksandar Stojkoski, mayor of Gjorche Petrov Municipality.
Officials from the municipality also announced a public–private partnership that will equip the roofs of all schools in Gjorche Petrov with photovoltaic panels.
The municipality added that investments in sports infrastructure will continue, with further projects planned for schools, residential areas and existing sports and recreational complexes.
